The "5” Bordeaux Blend varietals are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Historically, the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varietals were planted in the Bordeaux region of France.
Our "5” is a heavy, full-bodied wine with a beautiful dark purple color with slight red brick hues. It is dense, solid and substantial.
This wine contains rich, delicious fruit flavors of dark black currants and dried plums. The fruit, acid, and oak make up the balanced trinity of flavor in this blend. This wine is aged in French oak barrels to create a wine of power, grace and age-ability.
Pair this wine with big, hearty fare or full-flavored dishes like a juicy, fatty ribeye grilled over red oak. Braised beef short ribs with wild mushroom risotto will highlight the rich, currant flavors in this bold Bordeaux. Pair with Cheddar, Gouda, Comte and other sharp cheeses and aged cheeses.
